OVERVIEW:

Thutobophelo Training and Skills Academyis accredited with the Health and Welfare SETA to offer the FETC: Community Health Work (NQF 4) qualification. This qualification enables learners to successfully enter the Community Health Work profession.

This qualification is for any individual who is, or wishes to be, involved in Community Health Care services.

A learner who has achieved this qualification will be able to practice the roles of:
  • Health promoter
  • Health provider 
  • Health network within a community development context
  • Facilitatator and Administrator of community health activities. 
A Learner will also be able to provide community health care, care for persons with intellectual and physical disabilities and assist in planning advocacy campaigns to support primary health care initiatives, as well as assist in facilitating and implementing primary health care projects within the community.
 
The Learner will have the necessary skills for employment by a range of government and social employers, will be in possession of a Further Education and Training certificate  and will be eligible for certain credit recognition in various higher education health qualifications. Qualified learners will provide a service that will assist communities to better manage their own health and wellness.
CONTENT:

The medium of instruction is English and learning material is provided by the Academy in electronic format.

The program consists of 30% contact/facilitation days and 70% practical and workplace application days.

  • Module 3 – Training and Development
  • Module 4 – Health Care Provision
  • Module 5 – Work Place Management
Thutobophelo Training and Skills Academy is associated with various institutions for practical learning opportunities. These associations enable learners to gain practical skills and experience in all spheres of the health care provider.
 
HWSETA will issue a certificate, after verification, confirming that the learner met the requirements of the qualification.

HOW TO REGISTER:
  • Pay a deposit of R19 600 to the Academy.
  • Bring the following documents to the Academy, along with your proof of payment:  
  • 4 x Certified Copies of ID
  • 4 x Certified Copies of Educational Qualifications
  • You will be registered for the FETC: Community Health Work NQF4 qualification
FEES:
R39 200
R19 600 deposit payable on registration
The balance (R19 600) is payable in six monthly installments from the month of commencement (i.e. R3267 per month).
