Frailcare Worker

Frailcare Worker (FCW) is an entry-level qualification for anyone who wants to start a rewarding career as a care giver.

The programme will equip you with the necessary skills to provide care for aging or frail individuals either in old age homes or in private homes, under the supervision of a professional Health Worker. Helping them with their daily routines, you will assist the people under your care with their personal hygiene, medicine management, sleeping patterns, health management, meal preparation and even light household duties.

The Course

A blend of theory and practical training, the Frailcare Worker Skills Programme follows the policy set by the Health and Wellness SETA and is presented as 30% theory and 70% practical workplace experience. All theoretical training is done through our online platform through our Pretoria based Academy. You will be placed within partner organisations for your practical training.

Why choose this course?

Do you have a big heart and a desire to help and care for people? If so, a career in frail care may be the way to go. While these characteristics are not the only things than an individual in frail care should possess, they are a great start to a very rewarding career.

Frail Care services are provided for a person who struggles or is unable to look after themselves. This frailness could be due to a number of factors including physical health or mental instability. Frailcare Workers look after these frail individuals by performing the daily tasks necessary for their health. This includes helping them to dress, maintaining their personal hygiene, helping them move around, feeding them and so much more.
